Kyuhyun rolled over and opened his eyes sleepily. The sun was streaming in from the windows and he could hear a bird chirping from somewhere outside. He smiled at the sound and turned his head. He was met with the vision of a pillow and distorted blankets. He raised his head slightly. Where was Sungmin?

He sat up straight, the sheets falling from his body. Where was his Sungmin? He turned to look towards the bathroom door and caught sight of the clock. It read 9:01. Kyuhyun smiled. He was probably already awake and making sure the rest of the house was okay. Kyuhyun got up out of bed and walked to the washroom to take a shower.

He came out, feeling refreshed and ready for a long day of work. He walked downstairs, expecting to see Sungmin there but saw nobody. He meandered into the kitchen, wondering if Sungmin might be there. Instead he saw a sleepy Junsu being held by a caring Yoochun. The two of them were eating breakfast which constituted as their “lunch”.

Junsu’s head was on Yoochun’s shoulder while the younger pressed gentle kisses to his partner’s head while feeding him a slice of toast. Kyuhyun smiled at the sight.

“Have you guys seen Sungmin?” Kyuhyun asked. Yoochun looked up at him.

“We just got up here. He may be talking with Yunho. You can check there. Sometimes, he’s phoning Eeteuk and everyone else and sometimes he’s taking care of the flowers or he could be getting bothered by Changmin or fawned over by Minwoong or possibly-” Yoochun was stopped in mid sentence by Junsu who put a sleepy hand over his lover’s mouth.

“To put it simply, we haven’t seen him. You’ll find him,” Junsu summarized. Kyuhyun nodded.

“If you see him, tell him that I’m in the office and to stop-” Kyuhyun was cut off by the arrival of Yunho.

“Hey, guys. Kyuhyun, usually you’re up at seven. Why did you get up so late?” Yunho wondered, walking into the kitchen. Kyuhyun turned to look at him.

“I was….tired last night from…checking my…..soap….anyways, have you seen Sungmin?” Kyuhyun asked. Yunho shook his head.

“He’s probably getting Changmin and Minwoong up. They’re still sleeping,” Yunho explained. He pulled out the coffee maker and began making coffee.

“Chunnie…I’m tired. Will you carry me?” Junsu asked, widening his eyes and staring up at Yoochun with a cute expression. The younger of the two nodded and picked Junsu up bridal style. Junsu snuggled into Yoochun and promptly fell asleep.

“Aww, how cute. Take him to bed, Yoochun. He’s all tired out,” Yunho said affectionately. Yoochun replied with a yawn and carried Junsu up the stairs, holding him carefully.

“Aish, I should get to work. Okay, if you see Sungmin, tell him I’m in my office and to stop by,” Kyuhyun instructed.

“Okay. I’ll say hello to Changmin and Minwoong for you,” Yunho waved Kyuhyun out of the kitchen. The younger smiled and walked up the stairs to his office. His head was whirling with thoughts of Sungmin and whatever work Jiyong felt like making him do. He walked to his office and went to his desk and began to work on the ridiculously weird work Jiyong had set out for him (why on earth would he need to make a financial account for daily waffle delivery?).

~₴~≠~₴~≠~

At around eleven o’clock, Changmin burst into Kyuhyun’s office, breathing wildly and practically hyperventilating. Kyuhyun stood up and helped the younger man into a chair.

“What is it, Changmin?” Kyuhyun asked, concerned. Changmin paused for a minute to catch his breath in order to form a coherent sentence.

“I can’t find Minwoong! At first, I thought it was because he was sleeping in. So I went to wake him up. But he wasn’t in his room. His bed was made and everything. So I went to check our office to see if he was there and I had just missed him. But he wasn’t there either. I can’t find him anywhere!” Changmin fretted. “Have you seen him?!”

Kyuhyun registered the look of panic and fear in Changmin’s face. It was obvious that the hacker was truly concerned about his partner and maybe even a little more. Kyuhyun smiled secretly. He wondered when the two of them would finally admit that they really did like each other.

“No, I haven’t seen him. I haven’t seen Sungmin either. Maybe they’re playing a prank together

"They’re probably-” Kyuhyun was cut off by a shout.

“I’ve found Minwoong!” Yunho yelled up the stairs. Changmin bolted from his chair and ran downstairs, Kyuhyun following close behind. They found Yunho in the living room, holding a groggy Minwoong in his lap. The magnae blinked blearily and looked around slowly at the group of assembled people before letting his head drop back and moaning faintly.

“Minwoongie! What happened?” Changmin knelt down and took Minwoong into his arms. Yunho moved off of the couch to let Changmin sit there with his precious bundle. Minwoong curled into Changmin.

“I don’t know….my neck hurts…” Minwoong whispered. Changmin’s scared face turned to look at Yunho who shrugged and then placed a hand on Minwoong’s head.

“It’s Yunho-appa. Do you remember what happened?” Yunho asked softly.

“Changmin-hyung….had just left…..and I was there…..getting ready to go on my patrol….but I heard a noise….and turned to see what it was….and then everything went dark,” Minwoong shivered and Changmin held him tighter.

“Wait…if you’re here…then where is Sungmin?” Kyuhyun asked. Something tightened inside of him. If Minwoong is here….then where is Sungmin?! Kyuhyun’s thoughts screamed.

“Sungmin-hyung? Isn’t he….here?” Minwoong asked, looking around in confusion. Kyuhyun’s blood ran cold. He stared into space, feeling as though he might faint.

“Sungmin?!” Kyuhyun called shakily, turning around. Yunho looked at him. Changmin’s attention was focused on Minwoong. And the magnae’s attention was focused on Kyuhyun.

“What’s wrong?” Changmin asked.

“Sungmin?!” Kyuhyun called again, this time louder. His body was trembling. Yunho reached out to put a hand on Kyuhyun’s shoulder but the younger one moved away. “Minnie?!” Kyuhyun’s voice was high and shaky.

“Sungmin-hyung isn’t here?” Minwoong pushed himself up but his head was spinning and he fell back.

“Don’t strain yourself! You need to rest! Something happened to you so you need to rest!” Changmin panicked. He pushed Minwoong down and held him there. Kyuhyun registered only Minwoong’s words. Sungmin isn’t here.

“Yunho! Can you help me find Sungmin?!” Kyuhyun whirled around and grabbed Yunho’s hand with such force that Yunho tripped over his own feet.

“Why are you so worried? Sungmin couldn’t have gotten out of here,” Yunho tried to comfort the almost hyperventilating man.

“Then why isn’t he here? None of us have seen him all day! He might be hurt somewhere here and can’t respond! You have to help me look for him!” Kyuhyun pleaded. His eyes showed terror, absolute terror. Yunho couldn’t say no.

“Yes, I help you search. Minwoong, just sit there okay? You need to rest up. I don’t know what happened to you. You must have fainted or something. So you should rest,” Yunho instructed. “Changmin, stay with him.”

Kyuhyun and Yunho walked out of the room quickly, leaving Changmin and Minwoong still on the sofa.

“I wish I could search for Sungmin-hyung with them. I want to help,” Minwoong pouted. Changmin brushed the hair off of Minwoong’s forehead.

“You fainted so you need to rest. Which reminds me, how did you get here if you fainted? Surely we would have found you on the floor somewhere. So how did you end up on the couch?” Changmin asked. Minwoong’s face turned thoughtful.

“I really don’t know. Maybe Junsu and Yoochun saw me and put me here?”

“They would have made a huge fuss. I wonder who put you here.”

Minwoong fidgeted, “Well, at least I didn’t fall down the stairs!”

“Thank god you didn’t. Do you know how much you scared me today? I’m waiting for you so I can help you but you don’t come. So I check your room and are you there? No. I look everywhere else but in here because you’re blocked by the sofa. I was so afraid you had been kidnapped or hurt,” Changmin turned serious. Minwoong’s cheeks turned a faint pink.

“I’m sorry for scaring you, Changmin-hyung,” Minwoong apologized, turning away slightly. Changmin hugged him tightly.

“Don’t ever do that again,” the hacker whispered. Minwoong nodded in the embrace. He felt protected. A small smile spread across his face at the thought. Changmin released him and stared at the other intently. Minwoong felt his face warm.

His mind grew blank as Changmin leaned nearer. There was moment in time when Minwoong was certain that this was a dream. But then Changmin’s mouth met his and the magnae felt his heart open and a torrent of emotion poured out. But he ignored it and focused only upon Changmin. The one he hadn’t even realized he loved until now. But Changmin opened the doors and Minwoong smiled into the kiss. Finally.

Kyuhyun was running everywhere, his heart was pounding and his thoughts were panicked. Sungmin couldn’t have gotten out, could he? It was impossible. Junsu and Yoochun would have seen him. But what if he managed to dodge the security cameras? But if he had gone out the alarms would have sounded. But what if he found a way out that didn’t set off the alarms?

Kyuhyun felt close to a breakdown. He needed Sungmin. He needed his Minnie to keep him calm. He was starting to unravel now. A panicked Kyuhyun knocked over a bunch of books as he searched the upper level hurriedly.

A slightly sleepy Yoochun poked his head out from his and Junsu’s room. He watched Kyuhyun running around with mild curiosity.

“Kyuhyun, what are you doing?” Yoochun asked. The younger male ran to Yoochun, looking wildly into their room.

“Sungmin is missing. Have you seen him? Has he come to you? Did you see anything last night? Did the alarms go off?” Kyuhyun asked, question after question pouring out of his mouth. Yoochun stared at him for a moment before coming outside and closing the door so Kyuhyun’s loud questions wouldn’t disturb Junsu.

“I haven’t seen him, he isn’t in the room and we didn’t see anything from the cameras last night. We’ve placed them around the house. I can show you the footage that we took. And you would have known if the alarms had gone off. They would have woken everyone up within a fifty meter radius,” Yoochun answered.

“Can you show me the footage?” Kyuhyun asked. Yoochun nodded and walked downstairs, motioning for Kyuhyun to follow him. The two of them walked down to the basement. Kyuhyun followed Yoochun into the surveillance room where he and Junsu took their posts. Yoochun pressed a button on one of the screens and the room hummed to life.

Yoochun pressed a few more buttons and selected a few windows and then pointed to one of them, “That shows all the footage taken from the cameras last night. We saw nothing.”

Kyuhyun watched the screen carefully. He was about to turn away when something caught his eye on camera seven. He pointed excitedly at the small rectangle.

“Rewind that!” Kyuhyun demanded. Yoochun complied and Kyuhyun squinted as he watched the camera. There were two seconds in which he saw the hazy form of a man in the rain running in the direction of the gates. He might have said that it was a gang member except that he was wearing a pink shirt that Kyuhyun had bought him two years ago for his birthday.

“What is it?” Yoochun asked, seeing Kyuhyun’s shocked and accomplished expression.

“That’s Sungmin. I’d know him anywhere,” Kyuhyun told him. Yoochun raised an eyebrow.

“Where?”

“Rewind the tape. Right….there!” Kyuhyun pointed. Yoochun frowned.

“I didn’t see anything.”

“It’s two seconds. If you blink you’ll miss it. Rewind again.”

“Oh, I see. Are you sure that’s Sungmin?” Yoochun asked.

“Yes. It’s him. I gave him that shirt,” Kyuhyun affirmed. Yoochun looked serious.

“How could he have gotten out?” The elder man asked. Kyuhyun was about to tell him that he didn’t know when a shout came from outside the room. Kyuhyun raced out with Yoochun hot on his heels.

“What is it?” Kyuhyun called.

“Come here! I’ve found something!” Yunho’s voice yelled from the first room on the hallway. Kyuhyun immediately made a beeline for the door.

“What happened?”

“Oh, Yoochun. You’re here too. You guys, I found this. Do you recognize it?” Yunho asked. A small piece of pink cloth was in his hands. Kyuhyun took it and nodded stiffly.

“It’s a fragment of the shirt I bought him for his birthday. Where did you find this?” Kyuhyun asked.

Yunho pointed to the window, “It was hanging from the corner of the window over there.”

“Are the alarms on?” Kyuhyun asked. Yoochun nodded. Taking a breath, Kyuhyun walked to the window and pushed on it. The glass opened without a sound. Yoochun looked shocked and Yunho stared sadly at Kyuhyun whose face turned pale.

“I don’t believe it,” Yoochun whispered. Kyuhyun swallowed and stepped back. And tripped over something. A box was a little behind him. He didn’t know why he could see it before. He stared at the box, his mind whirling. A man the height of Sungmin wouldn’t be able to get out of this window even with standing on his toes. But with a box….

“Why didn’t the alarms go off?” Yunho demanded.

“They must not have wired the basement. They probably thought nobody could get out,” Yoochun replied, his voice shaky.

“That’s obviously been proven wrong,” Kyuhyun responded coldly.

“Why do you think he left?” Yunho asked. Something by Yunho’s foot caught Kyuhyun’s attention. It was a faint outline of a footprint. Kyuhyun squinted to read it better. A faded B and H entwined were imprinted there. Kyuhyun’s eyes narrowed.

“The Black Hand must have gotten in by the same way and threatened him. He left so the threats wouldn’t be carried out…” Kyuhyun said while running out of the room. He ran up two floors and into his office. He grabbed his phone and dialled a number hurriedly.

“Hello?”

“Shinjung! It’s me!”

“Oh, hey, Kyuhyun. What’s up?”

“Are you watching the house?”

“We’ve been watching for a while now.”

“When did you arrive?”

“At about four fifteen last night.”

“Did you see anything?”

“No. It was raining and we only saw your house. There were no cars, people, anything. Just us. We’re still here right now but hidden.”

“Oh…thanks…”

“What’s going on Kyuhyu-”

His co-leader’s voice was cut off as Kyuhyun hung up. So Sungmin had gotten out without anybody noticing. What on earth could the Black Hand have threatened him with that made him so eager to leave? A knock at the door roused him from his thoughts and he turned to see Minwoong walking in.

“What do you want?” Kyuhyun asked. He didn’t mean to be sharp but he was on edge now. He had to get his Sungmin back.

“I have to talk to you. It’s important,” Minwoong answered.

“I don’t care! Sungmin has been taken! Who knows what could be happening to him?”

“You need to hear this,” Minwoong said. His dark eyes burned into Kyuhyun’s.

“I don’t have time to hear it!”

“But you need to.”

“Why?”

“Because…”

“Because why?” Kyuhyun asked, patience waning.

“I’m Chung Jiwon’s son.” Minwoong finished.
