Chapter 14 When Life Repays You

Disclaimer: This fanfic is not mine, it's from the author I admire most,http://cosmic-celestia.livejournal.com/6991.html. Thanks for this wonderful fanfic. I copied and pasted it here in my blog so it is easier to load on my iPhone, because my iPhone reallly hates WiFi.

“Teukie-umma, we should give Sungmin some of the things he’s forgotten. He can use his old clothes that he left behind. He told me he was borrowing Kyuhyun’s. Can we give these to him?” Ryeowook held out a bag of Sungmin’s things.

“Yeah. We’ll have to mail them though, Ryeowookie-baby. Kangin and I are leaving for a bit and you’re going with Yesung to visit your mom. You know Eunhae will forget to deliver them because they’re fooling around,” Eeteuk smiled.

“True. Maybe Jiyong could deliver them.”

“We’re not going to ask a vice president to deliver personal items for Sungmin. He’s got better things to do. Hand me that bag, will you?” Eeteuk tried to stuff a bag holding his electronics into the suitcase.

“When will you be back?” Ryeowook asked, slightly anxious with the thought of Eeteuk’s absence.

“We’ll be back the day after tomorrow. We’ll be there for only one night because Kangin didn’t want to stay longer than that. His presentation is short so we’ll be able to get back in good time.”

“I guess it’s good that Kangin-appa is held in such high esteem.”

“That and the fact that if Kangin gets ticked off, nobody wants to be on the receiving end of those muscles,” Eeteuk smiled, poking Ryeowook in the forehead. The eternal magnae smiled and helped Eeteuk close his suitcase.

“Kangin has that appearance,” Ryeowook grinned.

“Does Yesung have a gift for your mom?” Eeteuk asked. Ryeowook looked down and fiddled with the hem of his shirt. “Wookie-baby? What is it?”

“I’m afraid of my mother rejecting him. If she does that means I can’t see him anymore. I don’t want that to happen,” Ryeowook mumbled.

“Is that so terrible?” Eeteuk tried not to smile.

“Umma!”

“No, I’m kidding. Just trust Yesung. He’ll win your mother over,” Eeteuk informed his ‘child’.

“I’m counting on it,” Ryeowook smiled. Eeteuk mussed his hair affectionately and then yelled for Kangin.

“Yes, Teukie-ah?”

“Could you carry my bags downstairs?” Eeteuk batted his eyelashes at his fiancé.

“Only for you, Teukie,” Kangin replied, kissing Eeteuk on the cheek. The umma smiled at him and then grinned at Ryeowook.

“It pays to have a strong fiancé.”

Ryeowook nodded and laughed. He followed his hyungs downstairs and out to the car. Yesung wasn’t back yet and he felt slightly lonely while watching the lovey dovey Kangteuk couple. He wanted his boyfriend there with him.

Just then a black sports car pulled up in the driveway. Ryeowook jumped backwards. The door opened and his boyfriend stepped out.

“Yesung?!” Ryeowook gasped. The tall male walked towards him.

“Well what do you think of it, Wookie?” Yesung asked, gesturing towards the car.

“Why did you get such an expensive car?”

“I want to impress your mother. If I have an expensive car, it will show her I can take care of you and provide for you,” Yesung answered. Ryeowook blushed a bright pink.

“Yesungie…”

“And I want your mother to like me so it will improve my chances of marriage.”

Ryeowook’s eyes widened and he stared at a very serious Yesung. Eeteuk and Kangin were watching them, whispering excitedly. The two of them ignored the elder males.

“Marriage?”

“You don’t need to say anything now, Wookie. I love you,” Yesung hugged his boyfriend. Ryeowook tucked his head into his hyung’s shoulder, feeling so utterly in love with his lover.

“I love you too,” Ryeowook murmured into Yesung’s shoulder. Their moment was ruined by an overly excited Eeteuk hugging them both.

“Congratulations! Once I get married to Kangin, I’ll help you plan your wedding!” their umma cheered. Yesung smiled gently at the eternal magnae who blinked shyly back. He would get Ryeowook. He could charm everyone who came his way and he planned to unleash all of his talents upon Ryeowook’s mother. After all, all’s fair in love and war.

“SEUNGHYUN, SEUNGHYUN, SEUNGHYUN!” Jiyong ran through the kitchen, brandishing the morning newspaper.

“What is it, GD?” Seunghyun asked, putting down his cup of coffee. His fiancé stuck the newspaper in his face and pointed to an article about halfway down the page.

Park Haejin Arrested

Late last night, Mr. Park Haejin was arrested for the murder of four people. He was found asleep beside four people who had been shot through the head. The police searched him and found a handgun that could easily be concealed. The police took him in for questioning. He admitted to shooting the four people for no reason whatsoever. A mental exam will take place later this week. He goes on trial in five days and is expected to appear in court for at least two months.

Seunghyun’s eyes widened as he continued to read. Jiyong shifted from foot to foot impatiently beside him.

“Crazy, isn’t it?” Jiyong finally broke the silence, eager to hear Seunghyun’s opinion.

“I knew he was dangerous but I don’t believe that he would shoot four people just for the hell of it,” Seunghyun murmured.

“That’s what makes it so odd. Look at him, he looks different, almost relieved in the picture they give,” Jiyong pointed to the photo of Park Haejin.

“I’m just glad you weren’t one of them,” Seunghyun slipped an arm around Jiyong’s waist.

“You rescued me from him before that. But I agree with you. He isn’t this cold-blooded. Maybe he had a fit of madness or something,” Jiyong theorized. Seunghyun kissed his fiancé softly.

“Perhaps. The mental exam will determine if he’s stable or not. But I want you to be happy today, G-Dragon. Not thinking about men of your past.”

Jiyong knew that when Seunghyun used his nickname, he was serious. He sighed and leaned into his lover. He was lucky to have someone like Seunghyun.

“He’s getting what he deserves. Karma’s a bitch, TOP,” Jiyong smiled.

“Haejin never saw it coming.”

“Well it’s what he deserves after deserting us. I trust he put up no fight?”

“No, he accepted it readily, boss. He knows that if he tries to fight, he’ll be taken down.”

“Very good work. Well now that we have those four morons out of the way, we can get down to business. We can start to put together our plan.”

“Boss…if I may ask, why do you want him back if you threw him out?”

“To punish him. He made me look like an idiot. He cheated on me and he was ungrateful. I took care of him for three years. And he repays me by having an affair. I will not tolerate that. I do not want to be made a fool of.”

A snicker sounded softly from somewhere to the left. A black gun was raised and a shot was fired, faster than anyone could react to. There was a dull thud as a body hit the ground.

“Boss….”

“And I do so hate being laughed at. Bury the body in the woods two miles from the city. I want that done quickly and efficiently.”

“We won’t have anyone left if you keep shooting everyone who displeases you.”

“You forget, the rest of the team is in the city. There is no shortage of people to use. And new recruits join up faster than we can keep track of. We rule the underground now. So worry not about trivial things like that.”

“Whatever you say, boss. Whatever you say.”

“Shut up and get rid of this body. I don’t want it contaminating this room. The Black Hand needs new bullets. Gold ones preferably. Just take some money from the storeroom to pay for it. I didn’t hire forgers for nothing.”

“Yes, boss.”

“And hurry about it. We have a plan to prepare.”

Sungmin stared in disbelief at the paper. How could anyone kill four people for no reason at all? The idea simply baffled him and he folded the paper, shuddering. Kyuhyun, who had just walked into the living room, noticed the expression on his hyung’s face.

“What is it, Minnie?” Kyuhyun asked, placing a worried hand on his hyung’s arm. Sungmin wordlessly pushed the paper over to him. Kyuhyun turned it around and read the article Sungmin was pointing at.

“I don’t understand how people could do that,” Sungmin whispered. Kyuhyun realized that he must be thinking about Jiwon and his experiences. He went over to Sungmin and hugged him tightly.

“Minnie, relax. I’m here with you. Don’t think about it. I’m here, Minnie, I’m here,” Kyuhyun whispered in hopes of comforting his hyung. He kissed Minnie’s neck lightly and pulled back to make sure he was okay. Sungmin sighed and turned away.

“It’s hard not to think about it. But you make it leave. Thank you,” Sungmin smiled. Kyuhyun grinned back at him.

“Good, I’m glad I can help you.”

“Kyuhyun, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you,” Sungmin looked at him curiously.

“What is it?” Kyuhyun motioned for him to proceed with the question.

“If I were a flower, what flower would I be?” Sungmin asked. Kyuhyun’s eyes widened in surprise. The question was unexpected and yet, Kyuhyun felt prepared for it.

“What kind of flower would you like to be?”

“I don’t know of any flower types. That’s why I’m asking you, Kyuhyunnie!” Sungmin’s voice rose a few octaves. Kyuhyun smiled. He stood up and held out his hand.

“Come on, let’s see what kind of flower you would be,” Kyuhyun wiggled his fingers. Sungmin smiled and took Kyuhyun’s hand. He allowed himself to be led to Kyuhyun’s plant adorned room. It felt slightly magical, stepping into the oasis of different colours.

He followed Kyuhyun into the room and looked at all the flowers as if seeing them for the first time. Kyuhyun brought him to one wall and stopped. He watched as Kyuhyun reached forward and moved aside a few potted plants. His breath caught in anticipation as Kyuhyun picked up a small potted plant, turned and gave it to him.

Sungmin held the flowers up carefully and looked closely at them. The plant was tall with a thick stem. Little flowers sprouted from the top and hung down gracefully on all sides. The flowers themselves were white with purple smudges of colour. They hung down like little bells and then burst outwards in a star shape. Sungmin looked up at Kyuhyun, wanting to know what it was that he was holding.

“It’s called an alium,” Kyuhyun said quietly. He reached out and held one of the buds in his fingertips.

“An alium?” Sungmin repeated quietly. “That’s a nice name.” Sungmin continued to look at the flower that he would be.

“An alium is given to represent strength. You would be an alium because even though you’ve been tortured, beaten, and abused, you’re still here, you’re still standing.”

Sungmin stared at him for a moment before walking forwards and hugging Kyuhyun tightly. No words passed between them but the younger male knew what Sungmin wanted to say. Sungmin pulled back and looked at the alium again. He kissed one of the buds lightly and handed it back to Kyuhyun.

“Take good care of my flower,” Sungmin smiled. Kyuhyun placed the flower gently back in it’s place.

“What flower would you be, Kyuhyunnie?” Sungmin asked.

“I don’t know,” Kyuhyun admitted. He had never really thought about what sort of flower he’d be.

“I’ll choose one for you,” Sungmin decided and moved off along the rows of plants. Kyuhyun followed him, his heart swelling with love for the smaller male. He left Sungmin for a moment and pushed aside his tiger lily plants. He pulled out something he had take special care to grow. He carefully cut off the thorns and placed the object on his bedside table.

Sungmin looked at the narcissuses. He was certain that Kyuhyun was a narcissus until he spotted another plant. He looked at it, thoroughly going over every detail. He knew that this was Kyuhyun’s flower. He motioned for Kyuhyun to come and then pointed at the plant. Kyuhyun picked up the pot and inspected it. He smiled at Sungmin’s choice.

“I’m a caper flower,” Kyuhyun informed Sungmin. The elder clapped lightly.

“I like that name. What does this flower represent?”

“It stands for playfulness. It is also used in sauces to give the sauce more taste,” Kyuhyun explained, passing the flower to Sungmin.

“That’s useful. It’s very pretty,” Sungmin murmured. His fingers traced the long stamina jutting from the middle of the flower. The four soft, white petals tickled his skin. This flower was beautiful. Like Kyuhyun. Sungmin’s face turned pink thinking about it.

“It is a very pretty flower,” Kyuhyun answered, half to himself.

“I have a request.”

“What is it?”

“Could…..could….I start my own garden?” Sungmin asked, somewhat timidly. Kyuhyun’s eyes softened as he gazed at his hyung.

“I would love for you to start a garden,” Kyuhyun replied. Sungmin clapped his hands again and let out a small squeak of happiness.

“My first two flowers will be the Kyuhyun and Sungmin flowers,” the elder male said excitedly. Kyuhyun laughed at the cuteness of his hyung. He wanted Sungmin to continuously act that way around him. He would give anything for it.

Sungmin turned back around and put the plant gently on the shelf where it had come from. He stroked the white petals gently, imagining Kyuhyun’s body underneath his fingertips instead of the flower petals. He prayed that Kyuhyun didn’t see him blush at his thoughts. He straightened up.

Sungmin was about to turn around when two arms wrapped themselves around him from behind. Kyuhyun’s warm touch sent sparks through his body and he tried to remember how to breathe. A stem of small purple flowers was held up in front of him and he felt Kyuhyun kiss his neck softly.

He swallowed, hoping Kyuhyun couldn’t feel his heart beating erratically. Two flowers were held in front of him next. A pink blossom and a white one tied together. Sungmin added these to the stem of purple flowers in his hand. A large red flower with pretty petals was added to the growing bouquet in his hand. Kyuhyun still hadn’t let go of him and he couldn’t calm himself. Kyuhyun’s touch sent fire racing through him and he could do nothing to stop it.

A beautiful white flower with large decorative petals was placed in front of him next. He could smell the delectable fragrance that wafted away from the bloom. A spray of purple flowers was handed to him next. Lastly, a red rose was placed into the bouquet and Sungmin felt Kyuhyun turn him. It was just as well that Kyuhyun moved him because Sungmin didn’t know if he could move on his own.

“The first flower I gave you was balsam. It means ardent love. The second flowers I gave you are camellias. The pink one means ‘longing for you’ and the white one means ‘you’re adorable’. The third flower is a red carnation which represents the ache of one’s heart for another. The fourth flower is a gardenia which stands for sweet love and says ‘you’re lovely’. The purple flowers are called phlox and they symbolize united souls and united hearts. I think you know what a rose means,” Kyuhyun finished explaining and bit his lip. His confession to Sungmin wasn’t quite complete yet.

Sungmin looked up at Kyuhyun and then down at the bouquet in his hand. His cheeks turned dark pink. Does Kyuhyun like me? Please let this be real. I like you too, Kyu.

“Kyuhyun……” Sungmin choked out. The emotion he felt stopped his words.

“Wait, don’t talk yet. If you feel the same way, give me this flower. If you don’t give me this flower,” Kyuhyun placed a yellow flower and a rose in Sungmin’s other hand. He held back his fears and closed his eyes. He did not want to see rejection get handed to him.

He felt a small, warm hand place a stem in his palm and entwine their fingers. From the stem, Kyuhyun could not tell what flower it was. Sungmin’s hand still remained. He opened his eyes and looked at Sungmin’s face. His hyung’s beautiful eyes gazed at him. Kyuhyun bit his lip and looked down at his hand. One single red rose lay between their clasped hands.

Sungmin knew he made the right choice. He could feel it. Kyuhyun was the right one. He was the only one. Sungmin let a tear fall. The emotion was building up inside of him and he didn’t think he could hold it in.

Sungmin closed his eyes as Kyuhyun gently placed his lips on his. This kiss was so different and yet so similar to the ones before. The same love and caring was there but a thousand times stronger. Kyuhyun broke the kiss and opened his arms. Sungmin melted into Kyuhyun’s touch. He could feel the devotion and tenderness. He wanted to stay like this forever.

Kyuhyun hadn’t thought he could love Sungmin anymore than he already did. How wrong he was. The minute Sungmin had given him the red rose, his heart expanded and he found himself falling once again. He held Sungmin against him tighter.

“I love you.” Sungmin heard Kyuhyun whisper faintly. That sentence made a few tears drop from his eyes.

“I…I…”

“You don’t have to say it back. Just know that I feel that way about you,” Kyuhyun murmured before he claimed Sungmin’s lips once again.

The flowers drifted to the ground as Sungmin wrapped his arms around Kyuhyun. He was opening his heart and soul to the younger male.. And he wanted it that way.
