When Life Repays You
Sungmin gaped at Jiwon as at least fifty, muscular men came to stand behind him. He wondered if perhaps Jiwon was insane. It was very possible but something told him that Jiwon had never been more in sane in his life. He knew what he was doing and it was obvious that this was planned. Sungmin tried to move forward but was stopped by his chained hands.
He gasped as the shackles binding his wrists together cut into him. He fell forward on to one knee, unbalanced by his movement but his arms were wrenched backwards as his chains held them in place. He felt angry. What did Jiwon hate him for anyways? Sungmin bit his lip as he was kicked by Jiwon in the ribs.
“Leave us. I will deal with him for now,” Jiwon ordered the fifty on looking men out of the room. Sungmin raised his head as Jiwon looked over him. He stood up but as he did so, an elbow connected with the middle of his spine and he dropped to his knees.
“So. You thought you’d leave huh? You thought you’d get away with making me look like a fool? You thought wrong. Well, the bright side is that you live alone. Nobody will notice your disappearance. You don’t win against me, Sungmin,” Jiwon smirked.
Sungmin glared up at him from his place on the floor. He was angry. He was surprised at himself. He would never have felt this way before…………..before he met Kyuhyun.
Thinking about the younger male gave him strength. He struggled against his bindings and Jiwon laughed, a cruel sound. Jiwon took a small sliver key out of his pocket and unlocked the manacles from around his captive’s wrists. Sungmin fell forwards and was kicked into a nearby wall.
His body collided with the solid barrier and Sungmin felt his body vibrate with the force of the hit. He pushed himself up and stood shakily, anger in his eyes. Jiwon laughed again.
“What I would really like to know, is why you haven’t submitted yet? Usually you would have given in by now,” Jiwon asked, not all that interested in the response. Sungmin straightened up and glared at his ex.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Sungmin retorted. He felt….vengeful. He wanted payment for what had been done to him. Jiwon stopped.
“You’ve changed, Sungmin. You’ve gotten braver. I wonder what the piece of worthless trash you found comfort in said to make you feel so special,” Jiwon mused. Sungmin saw red. He didn’t care anymore if Jiwon insulted him but to insult Kyuhyun was the biggest mistake Jiwon had ever made.
“Don’t you dare call him a worthless piece of trash,” Sungmin growled. “You don’t deserve to even acknowledge him.” Sungmin trembled with anger. Luckily, Jiwon didn’t know that Kyuhyun existed, so he was safe. And it was a good thing too. His hands were shaking and his fought to keep his hands together instead of around Jiwon’s throat.
“He must be special then, to give you this strength. But you will never be stronger than me, Sungmin. Does this person whom you have sought comfort with hold you and tell you you’re special? It’s a lie. You are weak. You will never be stronger than me.”
“I was always stronger than you,” Sungmin retorted. He knew it was true. He finally understood what Kyuhyun had been telling him. He smiled slightly at the thought of Kyuhyun.
“What do you mean?” Jiwon asked, a dangerous light coming into his eyes.
“For three years, I bore the burden of your abuse. You would have caved in after the first beating. Did it make you feel powerful as you watched me fall to the ground? Did you feel better as you made me submit? Let me tell you something. That is the lie. Those fleeting victories were just that; brief triumphs over someone who was stronger. As those lies crumble down around you, I have found a new life,” Sungmin said, feeling some of his old strength come back to him.
“And do you honestly believe that?” Jiwon sneered. Sungmin nodded.
“I really do.”
“Well then let me tell you something. I will have another victory over you. Don’t try to kid yourself, it is your place in life and you would do well to remember it!” Jiwon shouted before striding towards Sungmin and punching him in the jaw. Sungmin reeled back and fell over from the force of the blow. He had forgotten Jiwon’s strength.
“Still think you’re strong?” Jiwon smirked. Sungmin glared at him and wiped away a trickle of blood coming from his mouth.
“I do,” he responded defiantly, getting to his feet. This caught Jiwon off guard for a moment. Where had Sungmin learned to be so defiant? His lips curved into a cruel smile. It didn’t matter. Sungmin would be put back in his place.
“Think again,” Jiwon snarled and he kicked the younger boy. Sungmin gasped as pain erupted in his torso. He barely had time to register a hand connecting with his face before a punch landed on his shoulder.
The punch didn’t really hurt but it caused Sungmin to stagger off balance. He was shoved in the chest and he stumbled and fell. Jiwon stood above him and drew his foot back. Sungmin braced for the impact.
“Ah…” Sungmin gasped in pain as a foot connected with his ribs and he felt at least one rib break. He was kicked again and Jiwon’s foot hit his chin and his head snapped up, hitting the wall behind him.
Sungmin saw stars in front of his eyes and his vision swam as he glanced up at Jiwon. He felt something trickle down his neck and realized that his blood was dripping down his back. He was punched again and the metallic taste of blood was on his tongue. He felt it drip from his mouth.

“Cause I can’t stop-”
“Yoboseyo?”
“We still can’t find him, Kyuhyun. Kibum is still at home and says Sungmin hasn’t come over at all. He’s still waiting.”
“Eeteuk-hyung, we need to find him!”
“We may need more help”
“Anything. We have to find him!”

“You may believe that you are stronger than I, Sungmin but look where you are. Now look where I am. Who’s stronger now? You or me? Do you see me down on the floor, do you see me bleeding?” Jiwon taunted.
Sungmin felt a surge of pure hatred and in an instant he was up on his feet and staring at Jiwon with undisguised anger in his eyes. Before Jiwon could react, he moved forwards and punched Jiwon. Hard.
His ex-boyfriend went backwards and fell on his side. Sungmin remained where he was, his hand still outstretched with his fist clenched.
“Now who’s on the ground, bleeding?” Sungmin asked, in the same condescending tone that Jiwon had used on him. Jiwon stood up and wiped away the blood coming from his lip. He looked at his hand that was stained with red, then looked back at his ex.
“You’re going to pay for that you little motherfucker,” Jiwon growled. He moved slowly towards Sungmin who glared back at him boldly. Jiwon raised his fist and brought it towards Sungmin’s stomach. He was utterly surprised when Sungmin grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm back. He pulled his arm out of the twist and stared at him.
Sungmin smirked. He was beginning to remember his old training. He had used to take martial arts and he had forgotten that he had learned such techniques. But now he remembered. Now it was his time to get his own back.
He turned around and gave Jiwon a well placed roundhouse kick who fell to the ground. Sungmin kicked him to a standing position. He was about to throw another punch after the kick but sparks flew through him and he fell to the ground as electricity coursed through his body.
He gasped, drawing in big gulps of air as he lay there, trembling and shaking. Jiwon stood up and a small gadget was in his hand. A small lopsided grin was on his face.
“See this? It connects to the device around your neck. When I press this button,” Jiwon pointed to a round black button on the surface of the slim metallic remote, “this happens.”
Jiwon pressed the button.
Sungmin felt currents of electricity run through him. He convulsed and tried to scream but his mouth was clenched shut. The electricity was shocking him, hurting him, binding him, he shook violently and finally managed to wrench his jaw open in order to scream.

“It’s getting hot, in the club, I can see, they want some mo-”
“Yoboseyo?”
“G-Dragon! Did Sungmin visit today?”
“No he didn’t. What’s going on?”
“Sungmin’s gone missing and I don’t know where he is. The rest of his friends are out looking and we haven’t found anything.”
“Sungmin’s gone missing?!” Jiyong sat up straight.
“Yes, he has. Did Jiwon come in today?”
“No, why?”
“I think he took Sungmin back. You have connections, help me find him.”
“We can try. We don’t know anything about him other than his age and his employment papers.”
“I’ll try anything to get Sungmin back. G-Dragon?”
“Yes?”
“Tell Seunghyun I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“For not being able to protect Sungmin.”

The pain stopped and Sungmin lay there, panting, tears falling from his eyes. He closed his eyes and tried to forget the terrible pain that just happened. His body, tender and recovering was pushed out of its healing stage when a vicious kick hit him in the hip.
Already hurt from the electrical shocks, Sungmin screamed as pain seared through his waist. Jiwon laughed loudly and clapped his hands. The fifty men returned to the room and Sungmin found himself enchained back in the shackles.
“You know what to do. You have your tools. Use them!”
Sungmin’s eyes widened in fear as ten men stepped forwards and held out a manner of whip-like objects. One was covered in tiny little spikes. Another was serrated and Sungmin didn’t want to look at the rest.
“Come on boys, let’s have some fun,” one of the men said. Sungmin’s head was forced down and his back was exposed. A crack sounded through the air and pain raced through Sungmin. He could feel the small spikes bury themselves in his flesh as the spiked whip came down on him again. There was ultimate pain as the spikes ripped themselves out of him and his blood splashed the floor.
He screamed, and tried to break away. This resulted in an uppercut to his jaw. Sungmin whimpered as another whip came down on his back. He felt blood trickle down his sides and he wondered if he would be brought to his death here.
Kyuhyun is safe. As long as he is safe. Please don’t let him be found. Keep him safe.
His shirt was now in tatters, blood staining the fabric. Sungmin panted softly, trying to regain his composure. He had hit Jiwon, he had tried to stand up but with so many men behind him, how was he, one person, supposed to take on all of them?
Sungmin felt another whip cut into him and he writhed, trying to get away from the pain. It was filling his world, it was drowning his senses, and they were all screaming in protest to the assault. Sungmin managed to break away from one of the men holding him. There was a kick to his ribs and he felt another break. How long was this going to last?
“Bring in the others,” Jiwon said from somewhere in the distance. Sungmin was dropped roughly on the floor. His forehead scratched the rough texture of the ground and Sungmin felt blood seep lightly from deep scratched on his forehead.
He was picked up roughly and his head was snapped back as a punch was delivered to the underside of his jaw. Sungmin gasped. The blood from his head was still trickling down his back. He was slammed into the wall and the shackles around his wrists cut into his skin. His vision went black and then returned and he tried to focus on what was going on.
He was being held up by another man and he could vaguely make out long shiny objects in the hands of about another fifteen men. Knives. Sungmin struggled and kicked out. He hit the man holding him who immediately dropped him and he fell to the ground. He lashed out at those around him and managed to bring a few of them down.
As long as Kyuhyun’s safe. Please don’t let him be found. Just let him be safe and sound.
He turned to take down another but his bound hands stopped him. He was pulled backwards and white hot pain swept through his torso. He looked down to see blood spilling from a gash in his side. He bit back a cry as he felt his side throb.
He felt warm wetness seep down his leg. He looked up and a metallic object was flashed in front of his eyes. His blood was staining the blade of the knife. Sungmin felt his legs weaken and he was kicked to the ground.
As he fell, his arms were wrenched another way and he felt his right shoulder dislocate. He screamed as pain shot through his right arm and now it was useless. He felt a blade cut into his other shoulder and another open a wound on his other side. The tip of a knife scratched a delicate line down his cheek before one cut through his back. Sungmin cried out in pain.
Kyuhyun is safe. As long as he’s safe. Please don’t let him be found. Keep him safe.

“Cause I can’t stop thinking about y-”
“Have you found him?”
“Nothing Kyuhyun. We have no trace on Jiwon and nothing on Sungmin. We can’t find him.”
“We have to! Please, Jiyong! I need to find him!”
“We’ve all been looking. No one has seen him.”
“I love him, Jiyong. I’m not going to give up.”
“We’ll keep looking with you.”

“Wait. That’s enough for the moment,” Jiwon moved his men aside and walked over to the bleeding Sungmin. The younger male glared up at the one who caused him so much anguish in life.
Sungmin rested instead of attacking Jiwon as he would have liked. Something told him that he would need his strength.
“This looks familiar. Where have I seen this before? Could it be when I took your little friends and tortured them? Could it be when I interrogated them? Could it be when Henry and Zhoumi were killed?” Jiwon’s smirking face was mere inches from Sungmin’s own.
He straightened up and turned away. He chuckled, the sound reverberating through the silent room.
“You sick bastard,” Sungmin gasped out. He rested his back against the wall in as close to a sitting position as he could get. He was slapped by one of Jiwon’s henchmen.
“Oh yes, do you remember when I kept you in my room for a week after I told you that I killed Henry and Zhoumi?”
“Unfortunately,” Sungmin struggled against the chains that held him. He was stilled by a kick to his stomach. Sungmin coughed and blood trickled from his mouth.
“Well, it was partially true. We killed Zhoumi first, right in front of his lover after raping him and torturing him. But Henry was still alive. He was being contained in your room. We thought he would talk about your meetings together. We were wrong. We killed him soon after. He looked somewhat like you actually. Bound and bleeding,” Jiwon grinned maniacally.
Sungmin felt sick. He had been living in the room where Henry was kept, probably after being tortured. He vomited, not being able to stomach the thought. Jiwon kicked him in his dislocated shoulder. Sungmin gasped in pain and tried to remain silent instead of letting Jiwon know he had the satisfaction of hurting him.
“I hate you,” Sungmin spat, blood falling from his mouth as he talked. Jiwon simply laughed and walked back.
“End it,” Jiwon ordered. Sungmin felt his head slam against the wall. Bright lights dotted his eyes and he felt his wound bleed harder. A punch landed on his cheek and his head twisted to the right, the force of the blow causing him to nearly black out.

“Don't don! Modeun ge don ses-”
“Kyuhyun?”
“Have you found anything yet, Eeteuk-hyung?”
“No, we’ve all been looking. Heechul and Hankyung are still searching, Ryeowook and Yesung are asking everyone they meet and Donghae and Eunhyuk have been looking under practically every rock and tree and bush they find.”
“Thank you for helping me.”
“We want him back just as much as you do.”
“I’ll start checking the outskirts of the Seoul. He might be there too.”
“Okay. Call if you find anything.”
“I will definitely call you.”

Sungmin was flung clear across the room. He crashed to the floor and his dislocated shoulder popped at an odd angle. He felt a bone in his arm break. Sungmin felt tears on his cheeks and was roughly pulled back up again. He didn’t know how much more of this he could endure.
He was flipped onto his back and a foot made contact with his stomach. Sungmin doubled over and coughed up blood. He curled up and lay shivering. Voltage that seemed to try and pierce its way out of his skin charged through his limbs. He convulsed forcefully, twitching and jerking on the floor as electricity was shot through him.
The pain stopped and Sungmin was once again kicked to the middle of the room. His blood dotted the floor, small splashes and pools here and there. A broken beer bottle was brought down on his hip and Sungmin screamed as the glass cut into him. His arm was then hit by the broken beet bottle and lacerations laced his forearm.
He was picked up and slammed against a wall, his chains rattling. He distantly supposed that Jiwon had fixed the chains to get longer when needed but kept him in control.
“Pretend you’re being hurt from now on,” a voice whispered in his hear as a fist connected with his collarbone but didn’t hurt. Sungmin nodded to the command. For the next ten minutes, different assaults were made but Sungmin felt none of them. He was confused but too worn out and wounded to care.
“After three more hits are made, stop moving,” another voice murmured. Sungmin waited. A punch to his jaw, a kick to the neck, an elbow in his stomach and Sungmin stopped moving. Jiwon walked over to him and kicked him once. Sungmin didn’t respond.
“It’s over. Good riddance. Let’s go boys, we have other business to attend to. Get the equipment off of him. He’s not good enough to waste one whole electric choker on.”
Sungmin felt the collar being removed and his shackles being taken away. He made his body remain limp. He didn’t know how long he waited but he suddenly felt himself being supported.
“Shh, try not to cry out in pain. I’m getting you out of here. I’ll place you on Kisook Road. Someone will find you and help you. Don’t make a sound.”
“Why are you helping me?” Sungmin asked quietly. He was tired, so tired. The person holding him shook and Sungmin realized that he was laughing.
“Are you seriously asking me that question? You didn’t deserve this. I’m bringing you where you can be helped. Be grateful Jiwon didn’t turn the voltage up.”
“Thank you. What’s your name?”
“Kim Seunghae. Quiet, we’re here. You’ll be found here.”
“Thank you. And Seunghae? As soon as you can, leave Jiwon’s clutches,” Sungmin whispered.
“Goodbye, Sungmin. Good will to you.”
“Likewise,” Sungmin answered. He was dazed, bloody and weak but he walked a little ways down the road. It was dark outside. Had all that torture been only one day? Sungmin collapsed against a tree. He was trembling violently and felt light headed. Had he lost too much blood? Sungmin focused on breathing. In and out. In and out. In and out. It’s easy. He fought to stay conscious.

Kyuhyun had been aching all day. Different parts of his body were sore. And it terrified him. That meant something was happening to his Sungmin. He was looking carefully out of his car window, scanning the streets for his lover. He had to find Sungmin, he had to.
He continued along the road and turned at the stop sign. Still no sign of Sungmin and it was getting darker out. He scanned a stretch of road and still found nothing. Frustrated, Kyuhyun continued his search. He passed a bus station that was shrouded in shadow.
Go back. Now.
Kyuhyun’s body obeyed the command before he had time to register it. His car was in reverse and was travelling backwards down the deserted street. He stopped at the bus station and looked around. His heart was beating wildly.
He was just about to continue when he caught sight of something. He stopped his car and got out, apprehensively moving towards the movement. At the base of a tree, a small form lay in a curved position. Kyuhyun’s heart flew into his throat.
“Sungmin?” Kyuhyun whispered, so certain yet so unsure. The figure turned slowly, as if in terrible agony and Kyuhyun found his lover, bloody and bruised but alive.
“Oh god, Minnie.” He dropped to his knees beside the battered male and put a hand on Sungmin’s cheek. A warm substance seeped through his fingers and Kyuhyun turned his hand to find a frightening amount of blood on his fingers. Sungmin smiled at him tiredly and put his red stained hand on Kyuhyun’s. He opened his mouth to talk but ended up coughing up blood. Still, he managed to talk.
“I knew you would be the one to find me,” Sungmin smiled.
