Chapter 17 When Life Repays You

Disclaimer: This fanfic is not mine, it's from the author I admire most, http://cosmic-celestia.livejournal.com/7740.html. Thanks for this wonderful fanfic. I copied and pasted it here in my blog so it is easier to load on my iPhone, because my iPhone reallly hates WiFi.

“Teukie-umma and Kangin-appa are back!” Donghae yelled, looking out of the window. There was a stampede of people going towards the door, each of them wanting to spill the news. The only two who weren’t rushing to their homecoming parents were Yesung and Ryeowook.

After making the announcement of their engagement at breakfast (everybody knew about it anyway) they had decided to let the others tell their umma and appa about their engagement. That and the fact that Heechul looked ready to kill if anyone but he revealed the news to Kangin and Eeteuk.

“We’re home!” Eeteuk sang out as he skipped through the door, Kangin carrying their entirety luggage behind him. He almost ran back outside when he saw Donghae, Eunhyuk, Heechul and Hankyung running towards him. He was immediatelyeafened by people shouting into his ears.

“Eeteuk-umma! You’ll never believe-”

“Teukie-umma, Ryeowook-”

“Last night Yesung and Ryeowook-”

“The Yewook couple are getting-”

Eeteuk held up a hand for silence. His children quieted down and Eeteuk looked at them all.

“Okay, one person tell me exactly what happened. What did Yesung and Ryeowook do and somebody

tell me now!” Eeteuk commanded.

“I was just telling you before everybody interrupted,” Heechul began, “that something very big happened here last night.”

Eeteuk nodded, “Go on.”

“It has to do with Yesung and Ryeowook. Something has happened between them.”

“Are you going to tell me any time-?”

“They got engaged.”

Eeteuk blinked. “Say that again?”

“Yewook is engaged!” Heechul repeated, a grin spreading across his face. Eeteuk was completely silent for a minute. Kangin covered his ears and pretty soon, the rest understood why.

Upstairs, Yesung and Ryeowook were hanging over the stair railing, waiting for Eeteuk’s reaction. They were almost afraid to go downstairs and see exactly what their umma had in store for them. They had just made up their minds to see exactly why the house was so silent when the quiet was destroyed by a scream.

“OH MY GOD! THEY’RE GETTING MARRIED?! WHERE ARE THEY?! OH MY LITTLE WOOKIE-BABY IS GROWING UP! WHERE IS THE HAPPY COUPLE?” Eeteuk exploded in a flurry of giggles, squeals and exclamation marks.

“Yes, we’re getting married,” Yesung established, walking down the stairs, hand in hand with Ryeowook. The magnae smiled shyly but couldn’t hide his happiness from the sharp eyes of their umma.

“CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO!!!” Eeteuk squealed loudly enough to shatter the sound barriers between all living things. Ryeowook grinned, trying not to look too smug about his engagement. Yesung was pulled into a hug consisting of himself, Ryeowook and Eeteuk who was still carrying on about their union.

“You’ll have to wear a nice suit, Wookie-baby. How about a nice shade of orange? I saw this one in a catalogue I was looking through the other day and-” Eeteuk continued to babble as he pulled Ryeowook to the kitchen where he had dumped all of his wedding magazines the day before he left. Ryeowook cast a glance of panic back in Yesung’s direction. His boyfriend could only stare after them in shock.

ORANGE?!” Yesung exclaimed when the two were out of sight. Kangin grinned happily, then clapped Yesung on the back, nearly causing the younger one to fall forward.

“Congratulations on your engagement!’ Kangin applauded Yesung. Heechul was also staring in disbelief.

“Who on earth would think an orange suit could possibly look good at awedding?” Heechul demanded.

“Eeteuk-umma,” Hankyung answered, “would probably say magenta would be a nice colour for Ryeowook to wear.”

“I must go help them. They are obviously in need of guidance. Aish, the things I do for people around here,” Heechul shook his head and then walked in the direction Eeteuk and Ryeowook were headed.

“Heechul is just as bad as Eeteuk-umma,” Kangin commented. “He’ll probably try to make Wookie wear a dress!”

“You know, he wouldn’t look bad in one,” Donghae said thoughtfully. He was then hit purposefully over the head by Eunhyuk.

“Yesung’s going to kill you for saying that. Ryeowook does have his pride you know!” Eunhyuk defended. “Yesung will go ballistic if they force his Wookie to wear a dress!”

“He actually wouldn’t look that bad in a dress,” Yesung said out of the blue. Eunhyuk deadpanned at him. Then he turned to the rest of them who looked equally stunned at what Yesung had said.

“Mark the date and time. We have lost Yesung to the enemy. We shall commemorate him for as long as we live,” Eunhyuk announced. Kangin put his hand over his heart and sighed sorrowfully. Hankyung simply continued to stare at Yesung as though he had announced fish was banned as a food source.

“Shut up, Eunhyukkie. Wouldn’t you like to see Donghae in a dress?” Yesung retorted. Eunhyuk could say nothing.

“Let us thank our team who came up with the final half of the plan late last night. We have been working on this for a week and finally, we have what we need. ”

“Thanks to the boss’s connections and influence, we have been equipped with new technology that will allow us to do this silently and inconspicuously. Three cheers for Chung Jiwon!”

“HIP, HIP HURRAY!”

“Thank you for those kind words, Taekyung. Now I would like to say that those of you involved with the second part of the plan may leave in order to set up and make sure that everything goes like clockwork.Tomorrow we move!”

“As you know, this is very important to the boss, he has a score to settle. Let’s do this right for him and make him happy!”

“You are too kind, Taekyung. Now, those of you who are part of the third plan, check to make sure all the equipment is ready. You are the second most important people. Make sure everything works! Third team dismissed!”

“We would like the second agents to step forward. You know your job. Watch the place. Make sure nothing changes. If anything does, contact us instantly. We will be tracking you to make sure you’re okay. Lastly, those of you who declined to help in the mission, step forward.”

A black handgun was hidden cleverly in the sleeve of one of the leaders.

“You will be serving a new mission soon. I trust you will do it without trouble, don’t you, Taekyung?”

“Yes.”

“Who are we serving under, boss?”

“The Lord Almighty.”

Gunshots rang out and fifteen golden bullets made their way into bodies, smashing through bone, sinew and muscle.

“Was that really necessary, boss? We’re losing members this way.”

“You either serve me or cease to exist. It’s your choice. Besides, new recruits join up every day. We have plenty of people, Taekyung. Now, why don’t you get one of the agents from the first mission to get rid of these bodies? The river is an option as well as the cliffs. They’re smart, they’ll be creative.”

Sungmin opened his eyes. He felt deliciously warm and happy. It took him a second to realize that he was wrapped in Kyuhyun’s arms.Kyuhyun is a sleep-cuddler, Sungmin thought. He gently nuzzled into Kyuhyun’s smooth shoulder, his skin somehow softer than Sungmin remembered.

He placed a kiss on Kyuhyun’s shoulder and then one on his neck. Kyuhyun mumbled something incoherent and moved closer. Sungmin giggled softly and pressed another kiss to the underside of Kyuhyun’s jaw. Finally, the younger opened his eyes and gazed drowsily down at the one he currently held in his arms.

“That was a nice wake up call, Minnie,” Kyuhyun smiled sleepily. He leaned down and – his doorbell rang. Kyuhyun raised his head and looked frustratedly in the direction of his bedroom door. Sungmin pouted and tried to remember how to use his cutest expression.

It worked and Kyuhyun kissed him deeply, ignoring whoever was at the door. When the doorbell rang again and again and again, to the point where Kyuhyun was ready to destroy the damn thing, Sungmin finally pushed him out of the bed.

“Go answer the door, Kyu. Whoever’s on the other side sounds like they’ll break it down if you don’t answer,” Sungmin noted groggily. Kyuhyun sighed and pulled on a robe. He walked out of the room and towards the door, angry at whoever was there who was cutting off his time with Sungmin.

He marched back a little while later holding a package, staring at it with a confused expression.

“Minnie, this is addressed to my apartment but it’s for you. Mrs. Kyung Heebon brought it over,” Kyuhyun held out the package to Sungmin.

“Really, who’s it from?” Sungmin asked, taking the parcel curiously.

“Probably from Eeteuk,” Kyuhyun smiled, beginning to get dressed. He was glad that Sungmin had friends that cared so much about him. He deserved people like that in his life. Sungmin opened the bundle and an array of clothes fell out.

“Oh, this is some of the stuff I forgot at home when I left,” Sungmin smiled happily. Most of the shirts were pink and Kyuhyun found it rather unsurprising that Sungmin had a collection of pink things. He remembered the pink bunny in the company photo and now knew why Sungmin had left the company he worked at. He made a mental note to go out and buy Sungmin another bunny sometime.

He picked up one of the shirts and dropped it on his boyfriend’s head. Sungmin grabbed the garment and pulled it off.

“What?”

“Don’t you remember?” Kyuhyun asked, smiling at his hyung’s memory loss. Sungmin thought for a moment.

“Remember…?”

“G-Dragon? Seunghyun?”

“What about them?” Sungmin asked. Then it dawned on him. “Oh! Right! We’re going to visit them today!” He pulled on the shirt that Kyuhyun had dropped on his head and then climbed out of bed, looking for the rest of his clothes. He was limping slightly and Kyuhyun noticed it.

Sungmin suddenly felt a wave of sadness fall into the room as he pulled on the rest of his clothes. Perhaps it was because his emotions had been toyed with or maybe it was that he was always sensitive to emotion but he could feel it. He turned to face Kyuhyun who was staring at him with a sorrowful expression.

“I’m sorry,” Kyuhyun murmured. Sungmin realized what he was talking about and turned to walk towards him but a soft gasp of pain left his mouth instead.

“No, don’t move,” Kyuhyun walked towards him instead and hugged him hard. Sungmin could feel the distress in the hug.

“It’s fine, Kyu. Remember? I wanted it,” Sungmin replied softly. He wrapped his arms around Kyuhyun’s waist and let his head rest on the younger male’s shoulder. Kyuhyun lay his forehead in the crook of Sungmin’s neck and nuzzled him gently.

The two stayed like that. Sungmin felt as though he could remain this way forever. His heart was beating wildly. He wondered if there would ever be a time when Kyuhyun wouldn’t make his heart race, his breath stop and his body weaken.

He closed his eyes as Kyuhyun placed a gentle kiss to his skin and pulled back. Quietly, he released a breath of air that he didn’t know he was holding. He blinked slightly dazed and Kyuhyun smiled at him.

“Come on, we should go. G-Dragon is going to kill us if we show up late,” Kyuhyun held out his hand. Sungmin took it and the two walked out of the apartment hand in hand. Sungmin was feeling exceptionally good, minus a little pain but it was worth it. Sungmin’s grip tightened around Kyuhyun’s hand as the doors opened and they moved into the main hallway of the apartment building.

“I’ll get the car, you wait here, okay?” Kyuhyun kissed Sungmin’s forehead and walked out of the complex. Sungmin waited impatiently for him to return. It didn’t feel the same without Kyuhyun there beside him. It didn’t take long for the younger male to return with the car. Sungmin got into the vehicle and the two of them drove in the direction of Jiyong and Seunghyun’s house.

“What is it now?”

“Well boss, he just got into a car with a driver and they just sped off to the east. Should we follow them?”

“Obviously. Once they reach their destination, you will tell me what they are doing and where they are.”

“Yes, sir. Will report back soon.”

“Ah, that was hard work!” Jiyong wiped his brow and proceeded to flop into one of the new chairs that had just arrived. Seunghyun stared at him.

“How on earth was that hard work?”

“I carried all the new decorations!” Jiyong declared.

“So? You made me carry you,” Seunghyun retorted. Jiyong grinned.

“That’s what you’re here for. Sungmin and Kyuhyun should be here soon,” Jiyong sprang up and began to re-arrange a vase of flowers. Seunghyun smiled at his lover and pulled the flower vase away from him.

“What are you going to talk to Sungmin about?” Seunghyun asked. Jiyong made a face. Sometimes it scared him that Seunghyun knew him so well.

“I wanted to ask him how he likes living with Kyuhyun.”

“Ah, very good Dr. Jiyong. Make a follow up appointment with your patient.”

“I want to make sure he’s healing properly, Seunghyunnie.”

“Kyuhyun will take care of him. He’s that kind of person.”

“Yes, I knew he would be the one to save-” Jiyong was cut off by the doorbell ringing. He bounced up and out of his chair and Seunghyun followed him to the door, laughing silently.

“Hello, G-Dragon and Seunghyun,” Kyuhyun greeted his friends warmly. Sungmin waved to both of them and proceeded to take off his shoes. Kyuhyun followed him and Jiyong immediately seized Sungmin and looked him up and down.

“He’s looking better already.”

“I agree, your treatment has worked,” Seunghyun nodded importantly. Kyuhyun and Sungmin exchanged confused glances and then followed Jiyong into the kitchen. The vice president’s eyes narrowed when he noticed something.

“Sungmin is limping,” Jiyong announced. To his surprise, Kyuhyun and Sungmin blushed bright red. Seunghyun got it and immediately turned to Jiyong to see if he was looking. Despite popular belief, Jiyong could add two and two.

“Err…well…that was because of….” Kyuhyun began.

“I can add two and two you know. Did you guys have fun last night?” Jiyong asked. Neither Sungmin or Kyuhyun responded. They were both too embarrassed to talk just yet.

“Obviously, or they wouldn’t be looking like that right now,” Seunghyun pointed out.

“Well that’s lovely. I’m glad you trust each other that much,” Jiyong smiled and led Sungmin out of the room.

“What is it?” Sungmin asked, seeing that Jiyong was striding ahead of him purposefully.

“How is living with Kyuhyun?”

“It’s better than living with Jiwon by a long shot. I think he’s a kind and caring person and he’s very good to me,” Sungmin answered.

“That’s good,” Jiyong answered somewhat absently. Sungmin raised an eyebrow.

“What do you mean?”

“He’s kind of like your version of Seunghyun,” Jiyong replied.

“I guess…”

“Seunghyun saved me. He found me beaten and bound in the basement of my boyfriend’s house. After he released me from my bindings, he found himself in a fight with my ex. I tried to stop him but it didn’t quite work out. He nearly ended up hurting me in the process. But he took me home and he’s cared for me ever since.”

“You were abused too?!” Sungmin gasped.

“That’s why I wanted you to find someone so you could be healed,” Jiyong explained. Sungmin nodded.

“I think I found it,” Sungmin smiled happily.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Seunghyun was talking to Kyuhyun.

“You are taking good care of Sungmin, right?” Seunghyun asked. Kyuhyun nodded.

“As best I can.”

“Good, keep him safe because he’ll need that security. It was like that with me and G-Dragon,” Seunghyun replied. “I knew he had an abusive boyfriend knew that he couldn’t get away from. So one day, I rounded up our friends and we took him back. But when I saw that he was bound and being beaten almost to death, I got so angry I couldn’t think.

“I just grabbed his boyfriend and punched whatever pathetic life he leads out of him. Jiyong tried to stop me but I was too angry. I just grabbed him around the neck and I was just about to squeeze really hard and suffocate the person to death but I saw Jiyong and I stopped. He has healed and he wants Sungmin to heal too. Can you take care of him?”

Kyuhyun nodded vigourously.

“I don’t want him to experience what he did before.”

“He won’t. You just need to protect him and he won’t.

The four friends stayed up talking late. Nobody minded. Two people did the healing and two people healed.
